There's just been a report on Belize Forums of someone seeing numerous box jellyfish close in to shore on a night dive. Don't know whereabouts in Belize yet but it doesn't sound like our area (who would do a night dive under a dock here?).

I have seen the jelly fish and swam through them too at Hol Chan last week. They are what we call sea wasps. Is that the same as box jelly fish? I think they are similar in looks but not in stings. I only had a few stings that have lasted about a week. There was also lots of pica pica.

Its in the family of Box Jelly fish but not deadly like its Australian cousin...hurts though. I go one on the lip and looked like Mick Jagger for several days. (no one asked for an autograph)

Nice thing about all the rain . the fresh water kills them and the Pica Pica.

How long do these things usually stay around?

Also, pica pica?? Damn! I thought that was in the spring.

A fish and a bird can fall in love, but where will they build their nest?
