My family & I have been looking to buy a small hotel in Ambergris Caye.
Anyone knows the best approach.
Also heard that some parts of the island are better than others specially with the flooding season. Is this true? If so, which part is the most elevated and best sheltered?
Finally, can some one recommend a good & honest broker to deal with.

Before you buy read the book "Don't Stop the Carnival".Funny book about a man that bought bought a small hotel on a tiny island.Also Buffett has a CD by same title.Check them out.

I am in the process of buying a lot in AC. I have been in touch with Jesse and he is terrific. He is representing me in my purchase and I could not be more satisfied. If I knew how to change my font to bright red and make it bigger I would have.LOL. See Jesse or the folks at Southwind, you can't go wrong in either case, and there are a few others. Be very careful. But first, in all seriousness, read "Don"t Stop the Carnival". It was written 30+ years ago, but everything in it happened, one way or another, on AC in the last thirty days.

OK...here's my two-cents worth!
I'm 3/4 of the way thru "Don't Stop The Carnival" Someone loaned it to me abiut a week ago. Great Book!....and I swear Herman Wouk must of had advance knowledge of Ambergris Caye!.....LOL I'm getting the biggest kick out of this book.
I think it takes 4 things to be happy here:
1. The "True Grit" of John Wayne (love that man)
2. A great sense of humour.
3. The adventuring spirit of Indiana Jones.
4. Last...but not least....the leather hide of a buffalo!

If you possess these qualities....you got it licked....LOL

I am learning to find it quite amusing!
