It was blizzard conditions driving to work today. I was trying to remember why it is that I've spent 40 some years in Manitoba. If you've experienced a Canadian winter storm, you know what I mean.

The one thing that kept going through my mind was March 2nd, March 2nd, March 2nd. That's the day we'll arrive in Caye Caulker for the very first time and where we'll spend the following 2 weeks enjoying the sun, warmth, and just hanging around. We're looking forward to getting to know the people and experiencing the culture.

Only 80 more sleeps or something like that.....AND a whole lot more cold weather.

Well, I'm in Ontario, and we've got winter coming at us too, though it doesn't sound as bad as what you've got.
If you like a relaxed place to hang, go diving and fishing, you'll love it. We're coming down Jan. 15, and going to Placencia for a bit, and then Caye Caulker. This will be our 3rd time in Caye Caulker, our 5th in Belize. Just love it! Looking forward to Belikins at the Lazy Lizard, watching the sunset.

I can't claim to have it nearly as bad as everyone in Manitoba (all 9 or 10 of you).

However, last year I left Columbus, Ohio for AC/CC when it was 10 degrees F and returned when it was 0 (zero) degrees F.

Brrr is right. You will have a blast in March on CC. It's the best time to go as far as I'm concerned.

Have a great time!!!

Timwit, I'll be on AC 3/3-3/12 and will take a trip to CC. Hope to run into you there or if you come over to SP.

I am not going to complain about the weather in the mountains of AZ after reading what you guys are going through. It's a beautiful summer day here with a low of 22 and a high of 40. Changed my mind, I am going to complain because I'm OLD and COLD!

Awesome news......the blizzard is over. High pressure system moved into the area. Temperatures have plummeted to -25C, with the wind chill factored in, feels like -36C. Exposed skin starts to freeze in 5 minutes. It doesn't get better than this.

More cold weather in Winterpeg. All week the nights have gone to -30 something with wind chill factors of -40 something. During the day the wind chills have warmed up to -30. 6 more weeks before we get to CC.

We feel your pain. Right now it has warmed up to -22 here in Edmonton. Looking forward to thawing out in CC.

We live in oregon and are headed back to CC in 7 days. We usually don't get much snow so today was a treat (sorta). You can tell where our minds are at though!

okay in North Dakota this morning it is -15 degrees with a wind chill of almost -50. YUK

I am headed to Ambergris March 4-11. For those of you that have been to Caulker Caye, what places should we not miss? We like to eat where the locals eat not the tourist trap resorts. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! First time to Belize!

I also feel your pain. The windchill here in Minnesota is probably -30 right now. Actual temp tonight might be -25 or more. We head down in April. So excited. This is just our 2nd time down. We went to Caye Caulker last year, but just for the day. We walked down to the cut and swam down there and had lunch. This year we are going to explore more, maybe renting a golf cart there. It really is a great place, smaller than AC. Stay warm!!!

Syd's is great and I really liked The Little Kitchen. There aren't really any "tourist traps" type eateries (in my opinion).
