The Lakota Indians have withdrawn from the treaties that have been signed with the United States of America over the last 150 years, because they claim they are worthless: “...We have 33 treaties with the United States that they have not lived by. They continue to take our land, our water, our children..”.

This means that their territory that spreads over 5 states (Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana and Wyoming) is now independent. They are inviting everybody who lives in their territory to become a citizen of Lakota Country: “...The new country would issue its own passports and driving licenses, and living there would be tax-free...provided residents renounce their US citizenship...”.

I'll wait for Summer... Gambling and no Taxes should make up!!

Funny thing is that they are basing their claims on US law:
* The treaties from which they are withdrawing have been signed by the US and the Lakotah Indians (treaties of Fort Laramie, 1851 and 1868). The reason they are giving is that the the United States has consistently violated the treaties between Lakotah and the U.S.
* The United States Constitution (Article VI) says that all Treaties made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land.
* The Vienna Convention on Treaties (1969) says that Fraud (like in violating treaties) is a very good and legal cause to withdraw from a treaty.

As a result: 1+1+1= United States of Lakotah.
(see http://www.republicoflakotah.com/docs/121707withdrawal.pdf - Adobe Document - for the complete theory)

With this I am personally recognizing the State of Lakotah.

OK, explain the passport thing to me. Where did this "land" come from? Was it given to them in a treaty? If so, why would they retain it if the treaty is null and void? Don't give me the old line about "this was all theirs to begin with".

Help me to understand.
