The Belize Yacht Club is a hotel/time share/condo/convention center with a mixed history. Most people who just stay there seem to like it; condo owners there have lived through a lot of changes, some not to their liking. It's a time share, too, which for many sophisticated travelers is not a plus.
But ... for the description: It's maybe one-third of a mile south of town, within walking distance. The units are attractive apartments, with tile floors and a Mexican feel; condo owners typically bought "up and down" units, with one bedroom on the first floor and one on the second, and the units are rented out separately.
There's a nice pool, bar, a restaurant and a convention/meeting center, the island's largest I guess. There's no real beach, though it's on the water with a sea wall.
The place has gone through a variety of changes over the years, and it continues to expand with new units and facilities/amenities.
And there's a gas station.
