ALright y'all! I am gonna be in Belize Mar. 5th-19th and for the first EVER in all the many times I've been to Belize we (me and Hubby) are going to visit Ambergris Caye!! Since I want to leave our travel plans loose 'cause we have friends hither and yon to visit plus business to attend to, so I don't know exactly what dates we'll get over to AC. What are the chances of us getting a walk-up room as opposed to making reservations? We don't need anything fancy, just clean with in-room showers. We don't need TV or a/c or anything like that. Suggestions? We'll probably be over there near the tail end of our visit.

Cat, I leave for AC Saturday AM and will stay at Lily's hotel. It is an inexpensive place that is CLEAN, on the beach, in town and in the $50/60 range. I visit San Pedro for the fly fishing every chance I get and stay there for the economy and location. Most rooms have 2 double beds, air, lots of hot water and a fridge. I always leave $5bz on the pillow in the mornings.

Based on your stated needs, you won't have any problem. I usually make reservations as I have found my "spot", but when I was younger I always winged it and was never disappointed. Have fun!

Thanks for info folks! If I get "firmer" plans, may try to call Lily's to see if they have anything for specific days.

I would advise reservations, you'll be here during a long weekend and just before Easter so you may find it hard to find one place to stay. You may end up having to move around and find different places to stay.

Ya, I would make reservations too. This, from the voice of experience.

Catdance62, Ruby's also has reasonable room. I'm staying there 3/3-3/12 for $60/night 2 beds, AC, porch, bath, oceanside. No TV or phone.

Once when I was down during high season, EVERYTHING in a modest price range was BOOKED. I got lucky and was able to sleep on the beach. wink

Some time ago I was described as "yeah, she is roughing it when there's less than 38 channels to choose from".
Good weekend dearie!
