Pick up your bus ticket in arrivals. Go out through arrivals, hang a right and walk up the building until you hit the bus stop. There are buses running to the bus station regularly.

One more thing, make sure you have jeans and a sweater on for the bus ride to Chetumal.

Don't take the bus to Cancun from the airport. Take the bus to Playa Del Carmen. Cancun bus station is north of the airport. Playa is south...

It may not matter anymore, but if you book the first class (primo clause) it makes fewer stops.

The only problem with going via Playa is that there are two bus stations - you arrive from the airport at the more southerly one, and leave for Chetumal from the more northerly one.

You can catch the bus to Playa from the airport, but only til around 10 or 11 pm. It does not stay open all night. Our flights always got in to late so we would take a taxi to the Cancun bus station where you have the choice of leaving late at night or spending the night at one of the numerous hotels for around $25. and leaving in the morning. The public bus station was across the parking lot about 100 yards directly across the airport building. Last time we were there was 2 yrs ago. but its been there for years, Simon B may be talking about private buses that service the airport or the public bus station may have moved.

Where are you coming from, ie. will you have had a long journey? Because if you want to hang out anywhere until the following morning, Playa is the place to do it. If you don't stop over, then so long as formalities at CUN don't take too long you should manage to get to the last flight from Corozal-San Pedro. I don't think you'll have a lot of time to spare though. Best pre-arrange with Henry Menzies ( www.belizetransfers.com)) to meet you at Chetumal bus station - if it's possible to get you to your flight he'll do it.

If you arrive at 9;30 you have ample time, you will find lots of Van and bus and Taxi service at Cancun Airport, if you are on a budget its alot cheaper to walk across the parking lot to the public bus station, about 100 yards. From either the Cancun bus station or Playa you can get the bus to Chetumal, they are very comfortable, air conditioned, even with movies so you should be able to get some rest if needed, its about 5 hours. We have taken the bus across the border gotten off at the Corozal airstrip for a few dollars, its not that bad. We have also taken a taxi from Chetumal to Corozal airstrip for $30 much better. We have also taken the bus all the way to Belize City, much worse, but perhaps everyone should do it once, its risky if your trying to get a water taxi, you probably would not make it, as we would take the 6 am bus out of Cancun.

How much is the taxi from cancun airport to cancun or playa bus station? how much faster would a taxi be than the public bus?If I don't catch the plane in Corozal I will have to get a room,I already paid for a room in San Padro this day,but if the taxi does not save much time I will take the public bus, thank for all the help, Jack

Bus from the airport is a fast and frequent service and you wouldn't gain much by taxi. The important thing is to find when the buses run to Chetumal, and for that go to ADO's web page - you need to read Spanish.
Once at Chetumal you would be very well advised to go by taxi, as buses are few and far between, they're slow, and if you're held up at all by border formalities the bus may leave without you (it's happened to me). Prearrange it with Henry Menzies - you'll need to tell them which bus you're catching from Playa/Cancun, but make the basic arrangement beforehand - and even if your bus is ever so late they'll be waiting for you. A superb service. Then they'll take you rapidly to the border, wait for you to negotiate formalities (and help if possible) and then rapidly on to the airstrip. I've used them several times and I know many others who have as well, and they always come up trumps.
Prices? I last did it last year, and then I paid $7 for bus from airport to Playa, $18 for bus to Chetumal, and $20 for taxi to Corozal airstrip (though I also gave a tip).
I don't agree that a 9:30 landing allows "ample" time, but certainly you should be able to make it. Check the websites of Tropic & Maya to find when their last flights to San Pedro are, and book on one. You don't want to get there in time and then find the plane's full!

I meant ample time if taxi was used, from Chetumal to Corozal, I just gave other options but did say I doubt if it could be done. as buses to Chetumal leave every hour, last flight from Corozal is at 5 pm, but not guaranteed unless a reservation is made. They are apt not even to have a plane at the airstrip if they have no reservation. I was told that there was a death in the Menzies family, which is why after several emails to them I have never received a response. Hopefully they are back at it but if not there are alot of taxis available,

Taxi should be quicker, though the bus (as I said above) is fast and frequent. No idea what a taxi would cost, but it wouldn't be cheap.

Just had a thought, if you havnt left yet, you can now fly from Cancun to Chetumal, I forgot the name of the Airline but when I checked fares a few months ago I believe it was $80US. You can find post on the subject under the Travel Forum. Cost more but solves the time crunch.
