We are staying in the San Ignacio area for a few days and wondered how close the nearest waterfalls are and if they are worth the trip to go see???????????? We are also doing the cavetubing and the Xuantunich ruins and Caracol ruins, so may be tight on time! Thanks for any info.

Waterfalls are in the Mtn Pine Ridge, about 45 mins drive from town. 1000 Ft Falls past Hidden Valley Inn and Big Rock falls (for swimming) on the Privassion between Blancaneaux and 5 Sisters. Or stay at Hidden Valley Innwhich has 7 private falls on premises for guest use only. You can rent one of the falls for the day.

Kate and I played in the waterfalls just below 5 sisters very romantic and peaceful setting. Water falls at blancaneaux are attractive but swimming and sitting under the falls seemed nicer at 5 sisters. Its all beautiful up and down the rivers in the Pine ridge area.

If you are doing a tour to Caracol, they often stop at some waterfalls in the area. Definitely worth it!
