seems i saw in a thread a little while back about free wireless being pretty abundant in town. is this the case and if so, where are some good places to set up if i were to bring my laptop down? hopefully somewhere a beer can be had?

I'm not sure I'd say "pretty abundant" but you'll probably find one or two places. Starting with your hotel, which is ....?

One place that immediately comes to mind when you mention beer is Pedro's Sports Bar, under the backpackers' inn. Great in the evenings as it's air conditioned. Just don't ring the bell that's hanging by the bar.

im not in a hotel, i have a house a few miles south of town. we are just finishing it up and im presently about 80 yards outside of the electricity. once i get that done ill get a satalite but for the time being, im looking for a place i can sit and have a beer and get online.

hmmm I don't think there is a place in town where you can sit down and NOT have a beer (ie beer is available almost everywhere) that said i believe estelle's by the sea just south of the park also has free wireless and they sell beer too - just so you have options. i know fido's has a wireless connection but it is blocked - why not try to convince them that they will have more customers if they let people surf for free? wink

There is a place across the street from the Holiday hotel on the corner that is air conditioned ,clean and neat, makes good coffee and has high speed connections.
has wireless and doesn't serve beer
