We are always trying to locate a US notary on the island. Anybody out there?

Used to be one, but I expired. Maybe I can get one before I come...I'll try.

At what age is it determined I am old enough to know better?

Thanks for the responses. Believe it or not the need arises fairly frequently - and although the US embassy has a notary on staff, you need to go to Belmopan to meet with them.

Even Belize attorney notaries are not always considered acceptable on some US documents, so we have found a new side line for those of you who need some part time entertainment!!

I'm a Notary in Montana and Utah, but don't quite know how the validity of a Utah stamp witnessing a San Pedro signature would be viewed?

Maybe someone on Island could check with the Embassy?

I am a Notary in New Jersey but I don't see how I would be allowed to notarize things (Physically) in Belize. The general information brochure for (New Jersey) notary's under "Jurisdiction" States: "A notary public who has been duly commissioned and qualified is authorized to notarize documents throughout the state of New Jersey". I take that to mean "Only in New Jersey". I don't know if other states have different rules.

Interesting. We have had notaries from other jurisdictions sign documents in the past and the certifications were accepted.

A JP and a US notary aren't really the same thing. But I am sure some knowledgeable soul out there would like to run with that ball and explain the differences.

Thanks for all responses.
