The hard squalls have stopped!! The overcast is lightened greatly -- like
the sun is ready to pop out. no rain. Light breeze with gusts of maybe 30 mph.

Has Keith turned South??

I have a software that scrolls through the satellite graphics. I take a
"picture" every one hour.

I put a marker on the I and then single step (or animate -- as I choose)
through the graphics loaded. The "registration stays "exact" on that marker
so I see the real movement.

Keith went straight west but has turned sharply south when I run that
program now!!

I use the "pure" pictures from:
http://www.goes.noaa.gov/GIFS/HUIR.JPG

The Donkey "truly" wants water!! It is eating it's way south?? Down the
"Channel" -- to Belize City??

Then to the deeper Channel South to Dangriga, Placencia -- PG??

To feed in the hot deep water in the lower gulf??
The Mitch dance??

Right now -- it is quite here in Xaibe -- like the passing of a storm.

Belize City should consider evacuating to Belmopan if this South movement
continues. Better safe than sorry.

I'm going to town to check the boat.

It is not my immagination -- my software is working right!

AT 1 PM CDT...1800Z...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE KEITH WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 17.9 NORTH...LONGITUDE 87.7 WEST OR ABOUT 55 MILES...90
KM...SOUTHEAST OF CHETUMAL MEXICO...AND ABOUT 50 MILES...75 KM...
EAST-NORTHEAST OF BELIZE CITY.

Keith is heading South!! but the "official" word here is quoted from the
National Hurricane Center - -that being that Keith will head North!!

With Mitch that same stupid information caused a ship to sail right into
Mitch's path and dissapear -- losing all crew.

Are we so foolish to do the same with Belize City?

Evacuate now!! Worry about looking like a fool later. Get out to Belmopan!!

Do not trust the National Hurricane Center -- Look what happened last time
we trusted these fools!!

Sounds like you are right in the 15nm EYE of the hurricane right now. It has shifted south and probably heading to belize city now.

The "official" word is that this Hurricane will soon head North West. That
people in Belize City should stay home -- as traveling on roads right now
is dangerous.

They keep quoting the hurricane center in Miami regarding a movement North
West.

Guess it is all about "Better dead than Red". Now we have cargo cult
hurricane advisers to deal with.

All I can say to this list -- is if you have relatives in Belize City --
strongly advise them to leave now --

I have opened the large windows in my kitchen. We eat comfortably.

Yet the advisers are saying this hurricane is coming to Corozal!

Right now -- it is closer to Belize City than corozal -- is moving to
Belize City -- not Corozal -- but they say to people in Belize City not to
worry -- it is going to Corozal!!

It looks like there is major damage in Ambergris Cay and Caye Caulker. Hope
we recover for tourism!

Money is one thing -- life is another. Evacuate Belize city!!

We'll know where Keith is going in the next four hours.

Sun is almost shining here in Xaibe. Going on one hour now.

Well, took a ride down to Corozal to check my boat. Water is back up at
least one foot. Normal low tide now.

Corozal is closed up tight! No one in sight! They have been told the
Hurricane should be here. Little do they know it is moving away -- to the
South.

The weather breaks just as I leave my yard. Going the 3 miles from here to
Corozal is more overcast and more rain.

Some old houses are losing their sheet metal roofs.

A few trees down -- nothing serious.

Very minor flooding.

I have opened all my windows here now. Just like normal rainy times.

I suppose they are still following the line?? Hurricane going to Corozal --
do not worry in Belize City??

They sure believe this in Corozal -- boarded up every where and closed down
tight -- no cars out -- no people out.
