Hi- Does anyone know how far DuPlooys is to town? Can we use canoes to go into town to have lunch/dinner?

You can canoe into San Ignacio town for lunch. They usually pick you up and drive you back. Hard to canoe upstream all the way back. It's only about 5 miles as the crow flies but will take you several hours as the river twists & turns. They offer it as a half day trip.

Are you staying at duPlooys? Yes, they will pick you up in town. Fairly standard half day tour. If you are on an inclusive 3 or 4 night package, it's included. If you are doing tours "a la carte" it's about $60 per canoe (1 - 4 people). Lunch in town not included and there are lots of places to choose from walking distance from the river.
