Where are you? Black Recado is sometimes known as Chilemole or Mole. It is a Mexican/Hispanic Ingredient, so if you are not in Belize try Mexican Stores. If you are in Belize it is available in virtually every grocers countrywide.

Do not forget the ground Pork either it is an essential part of the dish. There will be the full recipe in the San Pedro Visitors Guide in two weeks time.

Recado negro can be found at the Greenhouse sometimes, and small markets throughout town. It is also at Island supermarket in a small rectangular package. I have never found Belizean Recado outside Belize but maybe regional shops in your area.

If you're not in AC or the Yucatan region of Mexico, you can find it at Fiesta Mart in Texas - Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, etc. We can get it in our local Mexican grocery stores here in Austin.
