Banana Beach is steps away from one of the nicest beaches and swimming areas on the island, it's called Mar De Tumbo beach.

I wouldn't really downplay your beaches there guys... I realize they are not the 100 yard expanses of mega deep sand, but you have something that places like Cancun and Jamaica do not. You have calm waters, beautiful vegitation and the most friendly people on the beaches anywhere! They are safe, they are public and they are neither too crowded or too hot, or full of tourists... The other thing you have in the most technical sense of the word, miles of beaches of sand! We walked from SP to Captain Morgans on the beach, it was one of the best afternoons on a beach.
