Hi gang, looks like I'm coming to town Oct. 9th for my one man fact finding/recon trip. Please give me your votes on where to stay. As I said, I'm by myself, so I don't need any of the frills my wife would demand like a pool or drinks with umbrellas in em, I just need a room (Air conditioning would be nice), and a frige for my beer.I want to be close to town and night life. I'll buy you a beer when I get there!

I say stay at Rubie's (Ruby's).
Upgrade would be Sunbreeze.

At da risk of sounding like I'm getting a kickback from dos Texas Ladies, I vote for the Hideaway Hotel. You can scout around for the proposed Truck Stop while there. Did someone say Chicken Fried Steak and mashed potatoes covered with milk gravy?

Bill the only problem is, as I'm getting sick off the edge of my balcony, I would like to have an oceanfront view.

My vote would be for a place like Mayan Princess. It's right in the middle of town, on the water, fine views of the sea, one-bedroom units with kitchens. Real tropical feel. This time of year, you can probably get a deal. A similar option at the south edge of town is Belizean Reef Suites.

I've been seeing late summer prices of US$50 to $70 for this type of place, not much more than you'd pay for an a/c room at Ruby's.

Ya can see da sea from da swimming pool. Other good choices are Rubies and Lilies Hotels. Inexpensive. In town. Ok, I'll throw out this pearl again, ya seem like ya gots ears. Spend alot of time at Estelle's Resturant. Nice place. Its on the beach. Charlie Worthington, an Ex-Pat, and family own and operate da joint. If ya eat near the front table, Charlie will introduce his self, and invite ya to the front table, evenually. This is an honor. You'll meet the good, bad, and the ugly at dat table. Take in everything, and reserve judgement. After awhile, talk to Charlie mano-e-mano, he'll sift da sand from the dog doo. Good luck.

Bill is that something like, "Picking the fly specks, out of the black pepper?"
Some of the real estate Agents, accuse me of that.

In Belize it's "separating the sheep from the goats".
