I really like Castle Cars. I stay next to Captain Morgan's when I'm down and I just contact CC ahead of time to let them know when I'm arriving and how many days I'll need the cart. Then I just walk over and pick it up. They are always very friendly and helpful. Enjoy your stay - I think it's worth it to have a golf cart when you stay that far north.

I've used Moncho's the last 3 trips. The carts are great, price is very competitive, they deliver it to the condo and pick it up when we leave.

We started with Cholos, but after one week and four different carts we switched to another co. The one located at The Lime bar.
Their name eludes right now.

I found a 20% discount with Cristal for internet booking with free drop off and pick up. This will be our first trip... any opinions about Cristal?

Agree with debbrief on Castle Carts. Rented from them in March. Nice people and no problems.

NC - there is another thread about your question, you may want to (Recommend you) do a search. Moncho's, Castle and Cholo's comes highly recommended. We personally use Cholo's and really like them. They are very comparably priced and very nice people.

We are getting a cart again from Cholo's for the same price (within a few bucks) They have offered to pick US up at Tropic, or bring us the cart as well as they will pick it up the day we leave. On our last trip, we about ran out of gas late in an evening, found someone from their company who went and got us some gas (all we paid was a few Belikins and a few bucks). They also did not require us to fill up the gas before they picked the cart up and didn't charge us anymore than what it would have cost us to do it ourselves (unlike car rental companies). I was worried I was going to get some astronomical charge on my Visa but it was just what we figured it would be.

Just food for thought! You will have a great time!

Gas carts are so noisy. I miss being in a cart in a quiet area and only hearing quiet.

Well, why didn't you just say so? How was I supposed to be able to tell the difference between a genuine enquiry and you taking a poke at me, like you usually do?

In that case, I'm interested in electric carts. Tell your friend. I don't rent by the week, but when I'm down, I generally rent a number of days or afternoons per trip.

We always rent for the week and would be interested in hearing about options. We visit 2-3 times a year.

I don't need to rent for the week, because I walk most everywhere. It's only when I'm wanting some adventure or to travel far afield or wander all over town for a few hours, that I get a cart. This has been happening more and more often. smile I guess I'm not as young as I used to be.

All that needs to be done, is to have the front desk order up a cart and put it on my bill. The cart generally shows up within the 1/2 hour of the request.

But if you don't have a front desk, then you can wander by Cholo's beach bar and they'll get it sent over for you. I tell you this because I rent from Cholo's either way. But there are other places.

I've rented in years past from Moncho's and if I recall correctly and unless they've moved, you'll find them just north of the cemetary on Front Street.

The OP is staying at Capn Morgan's. I would certainly not even consider an electric cart if I wanted to make journeys to town from there. Electric carts are quieter than gas, and especially so when the batteries have gone flat!

Pedro2 said: Electric carts are quieter than gas, and especially so when the batteries have gone flat!

seashell replies: I agree!! As quiet as a gas cart that's out of gas. smile Regardless, while it makes more sense to have a gas cart that will take you further when you are going further, I still miss a quiet electric cart when I'm in a normally quiet part of the island. That's all I'm saying.

Here at home or away, I don't particularly like to hear seadoos, jetskis, ATV's, etc., when I'm camping or on shore by the lake. This carries over to my preferring to be in an electric cart, that's whisper quiet.

Oh, and I can't get this darn song out of my head:

Oh Canada, Our home and native land!
True patriot love
. . .in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise. . .
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,
O Canada,
We stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land,
glorious and free!

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

Damn, I'm feeling so patriotic tonight. Thanks Pedro2. I'm happy that I'm a Canadian, though I do wish it was a bit closer to Belize.

Ultimate Cart Rentals rents carts with a serious design flaw. The shade awning/roof does not extend over the back seat. So zero shade for the kids, and in a downpour there is no shelter. ALSO, the roof is supported by two metal struts that bend outward right where the passengers heads are, and as you go over bumps....... SMACK! You can't avoid hitting the struts without leaning over your legs the ENTIRE time you ride in the cart.

The sun, the hitting of the head, it gets old. And every cart they have is like that.
