My nephew (my brother's son) has just had a son. What relation is the new-born to me?

Great-nephew or nephew-once-removed? I suggest the latter because the extra difference is another generation.

I've spent some time on the Wikipedia definition of Cousin and I'm none the wiser, at least as regards my question.

well, since your grandfather's brother is your great-uncle, I just asume your brother's grandson is your great nephew

For sure he's not your cousin.

Actually, if Wikipedia is to be believed then most relatives are correctly termed "cousin".

That certainly holds true in Tennessee, Arkansas and the southern section of Missouri. laugh

I have all kinds of relatives, and many of them are cousins, for sure. However, some others of them are great aunts and uncles and all of their kids and their kids' kids are my cousins. My first cousin's kids are my cousins (but call me Aunty). I just introduce them as my neice and nephew, cuz it is easier that way. My sister's kids are my niece and nephew for real. When they have kids, those babies will be my great nieces and/or nephews, since I'll be there great-aunt.

I suspect the word has changed its meaning, and whoever wrote the Wiki piece stuck to the old meaning. Under that all the people you've mentioned are called "cousins".
