I know this is off-base as it is not related to AC so sorry in advance. But...my family/friend group is going to Playa del Carmen over the holidays and I can't seem to find airfare from Omaha for less than $1,000 -- to either Cozumel or Cancun. Can any of the travel agents who peruse this board help me? Four adults, 12/17-12/26. And I wish we were coming to San Pedro for the holidays, we did that two years ago, but in any case, my husband and I will be in San Pedro at the end of October. Can't wait.

I STRONGLY recommend that you get on the net and research the Funjet Vacations site. They have AWESOME travel deals to Cancun/Cozumel. We've booked through them on four different occasions and got deals that boggle the mind. You can get all inclusive deals or just airfare and hotel, and sometimes just air. We went to the Mayan Sun Coast and stayed in Puerto Aventuras. (Just south of Playa Del Carmen -a marina village. Only three hotels, very quiet and just beautiful. The lagoon is surrounded by a boardwalk that has shops and restaurants. There are dolphins in it. You can watch them play while you eat. Wonderful little village. We've been there three times!!!) We stayed 8 days and 7 nights. The price included ALL meals, liqour, hotel, non motorized water sports, airfare and transport to the airport. It was $750!!!! I suggest you research their site.......Debbie

Try Barb at barbsbelize.com If she can't help you personally I'll bet she knows someone who can. BIG problem is holiday travel, and the fact that this is almost October. Our AC tickets for Christmas were almost double what we normally spend.

When are you going to SP in October?

I'm not a travel agent, but I play one on TV, I guess I don't have to tell you, this is an expensive time to fly! I couldn't find anything cheaper even at Latin Discounters, and they have great deals normally. Good Luck

Thanks, Debbie and Choochoo. I have looked at Funjet (and even tried Priceline). Our porblem is that we already have our land accommodations so all we need is air. I'll try Barb. We will be in San Pedro Oct. 29-Nov. 4. Staying at Paradise Villas -- got a good package through Gaz Cooper. Prior to that we will be at Caves Branch for 3 nights, probably then to San Ignacio one night and Tikal for 2 nights (we have no set itinerary for this, however) then off to Beaches and Dreams at Hopkins. I love Belize, this will be my fifth trip there and I always look forward to it.

When PV gets boring and you take that stroll down the beach, after you've stopped at Coconut's Beach Bar for some additional energy, go about 100 yards south (thumb your nose at the barge) and give us a wave. Oct. 29th - Nov. 5th.

Good luck with the holiday airfare. EEEK!

Choochoo, I take it you will be in AC, where are you staying? Have you been there before during this time? Any Halloween festivities or other goings on that you know about? I am very happy to be out of the US at this time to miss the final week of Election 2000 -- yikes.

Sorry Funjet couldn't help. Keep trying. Someone on this board mentioned an airline ticket auction site. Might be worth a try. Someone may be trying to dump unwanted tickets for that same time??? Ask the board folks. So you're staying at Paradise Villas? We stayed there and absolutely loved it. It was perfect for me and my family. Have a wonderful time.

We will be at Coral Bay Villas that week. About half the time we bring others with us, and this time we have 3 other couples. Two couples are "newbies". The other couple has been with us many, many times (in spite of that they keep coming back...hmmmmm). This will be our second Halloween in AC. Not much "happinin' unless we make it.

We intend to reconvene the wildly popular Adult Chemistry 101 "Proper Care and Handling of Unusual Alcoholic Combinations" at BC's approx. 2 pm Sunday the 29th. The August session was met with great enthusiasm and levels of participation. The class will also correspond with the ever heralded BC's Sunday BBQ.

Additionally, there will be a multi-day birthday celebration commencing at BC's Thursday evening, the 2nd, and wrapping up Sunday the 5th. This will be held in various locations throughout the town at random times. Sort of a four day progressive fest of mayhem and mischief.

Maybe we will see you at BC's -- that is on our agenda as well. Your classwork sounds great. Maybe we can audit a session or two, higher education is a wonderful thing, I think we should never stop learning!
