Just read a news release on Yahoo, starting June 15th American Airlines to start charging 15 dollars for the first checked bag per person!

I hear they're also going to start adding seat reservation supplements.

Expect it to just get worst. With the astronomical fuel prices, airlines are just trying to keep their heads above water.

This new charge is only for domestic flts ( so far) and will not be charged for those going overseas.

i booked my flight on AA back in feb. had heard of this with other airlines, so i contacted AA a few months ago...the person i spoke with hadn't heard anything about the extra bag yet...
seems that it was in the works, but she assured me that i would not be charged, being that i paid for my tickets before the extra charge goes into effect....
