Does anyone know of an alternative location siliar to AC where there is:

1. good diving

2. lodging on the beach

3. a cool friendly town with bars and locals to drink and party with (close to 1 & 2).

Placencia?

What about Costa Rica? Anyone have any experience? The surfing is supposed to be awesome. hmmmmmmmm.....

Just don't know how cool the towns are. It looks like you need a car to get around too.

Placencia is in Belize also right? It wasn't hit as hard?

My brain's a little fried from being on this board for two days, but my memory is that Placencia's OK. Yes, in BZE, in the south, though. Search for "Placencia" under Hurricane board for more info.
