Everything I read says that oil certainly hasn't stopped going up, and apart from odd ripples won't come back down again. A new standard level will be set that is so far above what we have been used to that it will have major repercussions.
We all knew it had to happen some time, and hoped the day was far off. Well, it's happening NOW.

The best of luck then, Wade.
With all these leased planes being returned, the next casualties will be the aircraft manufacturers, the difference there being the inertia of the technology development process. They'll simply stop developing new and more fuel efficient aircraft, and once their R&D teams are disbanded it'll take years to build them up again. This is getting serious.
