Has anyone else experienced a torrent of junk over the past few days? I've received around 500 a day today and yesterday, but the previous day was normal at a fraction of that. These splurges do happen from time to time, but I wonder how they decide who/what server to target.

Just what type of websites do you visit, p?

If you have your e-mail address on your website spammers crawlers will get it and use it as much as possible. I get on average about 500 spam a day to my various accounts and catch all accounts.

My point was that there has been a recent massive surge in junk mail. Since I posted it's dropped back to normal levels. I just wanted to know whether other people experienced a surge at the same time.

That's not totally true.

I rarely get junk mail surprisingly and I use hotmail.

I have seen people put their email on websites in a certain way that makes it harder for spambots to detect no idea if that works or not.
