Does anyone have any word on the condition of the Mata Chica Beach Resort north of San Pedro? We're planning a trip there and we've not been able to establish contact. Would appreciate any word.

Mark,

Mata Chica was closed when the storm hit. Reports I have seen suggest the hotel was badly damaged, but I do not have any first-hand information. Certainly the kind of structures that the hotel had -- thatch-roof cabañas -- were likely to have suffered pretty badly. All over the island, it appears that thatch and tile roofs got blown pretty badly. Concrete roofs made it better.

Having stayed on AC at Mata Chica and having never forgotten my days there am concerned about Gricel, Marco, Rodrigo and where they might have been during the Hurricane. Any info would be appreciated.
