I think it is allowed as long as they speak in third person and call it a "poot"

I'm sure you heard the story of the Queen taking a visiting foreign dignitary to Buck House in one of the royal horse-drawn carriages? On the way up the Mall one of the horses farted very loudly and smellily, and the Queen said "Oh, I do beg your pardon!". To which the great visitor replied "That's quite all right, Ma'am - I thought it was one of the horses".
