Friends are planning Nov 25-Dec 3 trip--want to spend at least 5 days diving--they were going to stay at Ramon's which I understand will still have some construction going on but the common areas will be finished. the Vacation company has suggested changing properties to the Banana Beach --- I have found no information on the Banana Beach status and they have not answered their phone--would this be a good move, is there sufficient transportation from the B Beach to San Pedro---appreciate any help???

Beth,

I think Tim Jeffers at Banana Beach reported little or no damage. It is of modern concrete construction and stands up to winds better than the thatch or wood construction of some of the other properties such as Ramon's.

I stayed there earlier this year, and it's an excellent place -- very attractive one-bedroom suites and good management. It's on and near one of the best beaches. It is close to 2 miles from town, but you can rent a golf cart or bike, or take a taxi ($5).

i looked into bb and almost stayed there this year. i stayed at ramons many years ago. they are both nice enough, but not the same feel. bb is kinda concrete-codo style, and ramons thatched. just different from each other is all i'm saying.
