I love the wayback machine, its not perfect, some images aren't there, but it cracks me up

see how many businesses on the island were online in 1996, and who they were. (click on the drop down menu)

Also the lodging page with 11 hotels and the restaurant page with only 5 look refreshingly simple. The Barrier Reef (previous Blake House) used to be where Provident and Alliance bank are now.

FYI, I've seen comments on some other boards that Continental (now with two daily flights a day to Belize City) is offering some attractive deals on fares -- something like US$189 R/T (plus taxes) from Houston. I don't know if these fares are available through travel agents or just on CO's Web site. If you're going to Belize, it may be worth checking out.
