Carib, I applaud you. You have every right to your opinion, though some people obviously feel because it conflicts with theirs you are any number of bad things, but certainly direct. Kudos to you!!!

URGENT UPDATE regarding Public Forum - from Late Wednesday Afternoon - Meeting Postponed

Please be advised that the Public Forum Meeting that was confirmed earlier today has now been postponed again.
Minister Heredia has been called out of the country on an urgent matter and has requested that the meeting be rescheduled. We will inform you all of the rescheduled date as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Good Afternoon,

Minister Heredia asked me to forward the following message to the SPBA

"I regret to inform the Members of the San Pedro Business Association that I will not be able to attend the public forum that is scheduled for Sept 04 at the Lion 's Den. I have been called out of the country to attend to an urgent matter.

While our Government encourages investment and welcomes the development of our country and our islands, the public's opinion as to the best way forward is of the utmost importance to this administration. I therefore extend my apologies for this delay, especially since this is the second postponement, and I ask that the meeting be once again re-scheduled. I believe that I must be present at this forum so that we can share in this process."

Hon. Manuel Heredia , Jr.

I WON MY BET! I say that if the next one is "postponed" everyone here show up anyway and maybe write a position paper.

Keep the ball rolling. You don't need officials to be present in order to organize your positions among the public. Once the meeting actually does occur you will all have a couple of steps on them.

Again, good luck AC!

I'm sure "Sow Up" was an fortunate spelling mistake, but it does conjure up a delightful picture of the masses grunting their dissent smile

Since the Minister correctly believes he should be at the meeting, he should name the meeting time and place, and it will be up to everyone else to be there.

OK so as an outsider, I should probably keep my nose out of this but I can't. You see, when we look for places to vacation, we look for somewhere a "little" touristy but not "TOO" touristy. A place were people are welcoming, down to earth, caring, and fun loving - no uppety uppety stuff. A place where you can "let you hair down" and not be criticized for it. That South Beach place looks like the place I WOULDN"T want to go. I think when people are looking to vacation, most of us are looking to "get away from it all" not go to the same stuff we see at home. Hats off to those of you that take a caring interest in what you now have and want to preserve it.
