H20, I was in the Bradshaw Mountains, about 15 miles from where I live in Prescott Valley AZ. I will be glad to provide address and telephone number so any one can call me or write me. My personal email is on my profile!

Pug, I know what you are saying and understand, but when one says that they are “active military deployed in Afghanistan", then their stand on political issues takes on a different connotation than just anyone else. Just my opinion, but several others asked and we were ignored. DD is welcome to respond in any manner he wishes.

No you have never been asked, because you are very upfront with who you are and where you live and neither have many others. I’m just old and suspicious.

I will try and find it: as far as source material, you have not heard me refer to Fox or Limbaugh in this thread, while you have alluded to The Daily Koz, and when I posted a link to the Heritage Foundation , I also included an AFL-CIO link, so again to ensure credibility, debate the issue, don't sling the mud smile

My preferred sources for entertainment are Glenn Beck especially his full hour interviews, and Michael Medved, and interestingly its H20dog who listens to Rush and Hannity and drives himself ga ga!.

I do watch Fox, primarily for Megan Kelly: a smart, well dressed, well spoken smoking hot attorney....if only there were some of them around here wink

I mentioned Kos because someone said here how the left was upset with the Palin pick so I showed that is not necessarily true.

I also mentioned Los to verify that I had read teh story about the bridge to no where the day before it was posted on here.

What I will not do is use KOS or any other left wing site as away to verify information. Posting from Heritage or any other right wing think tank is just as bad as if I had posted from KOS.

I just wanted to let you know that. And if thats your source material on Carter's alleged treason. Then save yoru time and we'll agree to disagree.

At risk of setting an horrific precedent, I have to admit that you are consistent when offering good information on all sides of an issue shocked

Also good to see Obamas firm stance that families, and particularly children of candidates are off limits: he has more class than many of his supporters

yes it is nice that Obama has said that. To backoff. But spare me the talk about class of his supporters.

Not after this crap 4 years ago

As far as I'm concern Obama's people could walk around with pillows under belly's and wouldnt come close to this insult against guys who got the Purple Heart.

I am a very direct person. I know you realize that there are several of us on this Board who are veterans and some that are retired military. Several of us, including me, have asked you questions that you have ignored. Those questions go to your creditability, not what you believe in, but who you say you are. Give us “old dogs” a bone. I am not asking for your Name, Rank and Serial Number. That may cause you difficulties. Tell us some things about being deployed in Afghanistan without giving away your identity. Those of us that have been in the military will know. There are many things that you can say without revealing your identity.

Well its difficult thats for sure. I'm near the easter portion of Afghan and our mission is to provide security for the Army team tha trains the Afgahn police.

The district we are in didnt exisst before so we are literally building it from scrath which made out job harder then most.

The road that leads to our District is one of the worst in Afghanistan so we either roll in with an RCP (Route Clearnce package) or Air Assault in like we did the last time.

Each time we gone there we been under fire. What surprised me the last time is they hit us when children where in the area that is something they normally dont do.

We are told that once winter hits violence here goes down dramatically which I hope is true lol.

Speaking of session. It appears that Palin was once a member of a party that and I am quoting here:

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/09/members-of-frin.html

"since the 1970s, has been pushing for a legal vote for Alaskans to decide whether or not residents of the 49th state can secede from the United States "

The quote is from the article But make no mistake this party listed as one of its stated goals:

"2) Become a separate and Independent Nation."

Now admittedly not all who are members of that party feel that way but a substantial amount do not some fringe element of the party.

Now Obama get grief cause he worked with a man named Bill Ayers. When Ayers was in college (And Obama was 8)he was a member of a group called the Weathermen who did do terrorist acts. Ayers was never convicted of any of these act.

Obama and Ayers worked together with a group on combating poverty.

Palin was a member of a party who stated one of its goals is session from the United States and a vast amount of its members still feel that way.

Then we read today

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/02/us/politics/02vetting.html?hp

that the entire vetting process for Palin was just one day. The other candidates like Pawlenty, Ridge and Liberman went on for a month. He gave her the job after one interview.

Now can you see why in addition to my previous concerns

http://ambergriscaye.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/295655/Re_McCain_Veepstakes.html#Post295655

why I have serious reservations about his judgement.

Is it my imagination or is the Republican party self destructing before our eyes? The RNC seems to be in complete chaos, the naming of the VP candidate has turned into a joke, not to mention all the personal issues she might-a-kinda-sorta forgot to mention during the vetting process. Good thing the radical right wing of the party nominated her.
I feel like I'm watching a slow motion train wreck.

Perpetuating wrong doing hardly seems like the best way to fix anything does it?

This is just a question, and one that I have no real means of answering myself, but what is the feeling in the military about Kerry's 3 Purple Hearts, especially amongst those who have actually received serious combat wounds?

I have only spoken to 2 recipients, 1 Republican and 1 Libertarian and they were both incensed at 2 of the 3 awards.

The comment one made was that a mechanic in the motor pool will shed more blood in an 8 hour shift fixing Humvees than Kerry did? Were his awards warranted, even if strictly within the letter of the code?

I really don't know, so this is not a "gocha" question

By the way, I stated clearly that the "source" was a comment made on the board about Carter, and also that the link to Heritage was posted along with one to AFL-CIO so anyone interested could look at both side of an issue (card check)
