Somehow, I'm thinking that Joe Lieberman will not invited to the Inaugural if BO wins . . just a hunch on my part!! and I'm thinking he'll be chairing the Senate Oversight Committee on Sealing Wax and Cabbages . . if nothing else, you have to respect his willingness to commit political suicide in the name of his principles . . a rare sighting, to be sure

Let the partisan slander begin!! (backing away)

Draven's dad,
Not all women when raped have that attitude. Many have had the child and given them up for adoption. I respect a woman's right to choose not to have a rapist's baby. I also applaude the women who think of the child and what he or she may become some day and have the baby. The mental anguish must be horrible no matter what decision is made.
I'm no religious zealot, but it pains me to think of taking a child's life away for something he or she had nothing to do with. Most of those kids would grow up to be wonderful human beings.

Wisely said, Reaper!! Choice in such a situation is not a glib catch-phrase . . it has to be an emotion-wrenching moment no man will ever understand!! But still I will always hold that, in such a situation, it is a choice the woman is solely empowered to make . . that she, and only she, has the right to decide. There is not a solution to such a tragedy that will satisfy . .

Is McCain's temper flaring up again? He cancelled a scheduled interview with CNN's Larry King tonight because he was upset with Campbell Brown's interview with spokesman Tucker Bounds. Bounds was flustered when she repeatedly asked him to name one thing she's done as Commander of the Alaskan National Guard and he couldn't come up with an answer. Another case of blaming the messenger?

PLEASE tell me its OK to start actually comparing judgement?

You must have got so worked up disputing everything that you are asking to do something than Obamas detractors have been begging for....Thank You

Its official folks, Dravens Dad would like us to analise the candidates judgment in years gone by smile

Not quite sure what you are talking about..

And need I remind you Obama gets grief cause he worked with Bill Ayers to alleviate poverty in the Chicago area. Yet Ayers actions occured when Obama was 8 AND Ayers unlike Keating never was convicted.

But hey I understand and its my mistake I forgot about IOKIYAR.

I understand that but make no mistake rape is a traumatic event of violence. I never said women should be forced to abort the children of rapist. But if a woman wanted to abort the child of a rapist who are we to even suggest give the child up for adoption.

Who are we to even ask a woman to carry that baby to term. Who are we to say go through all the stress associated with pregancy?

I praise any rape victim with the courage to do that. I praise and rape victim who is willing to raise that child God bless them!!!

But I will neither pass judgement on any woman who choose to abort the rapist child. I will just pray that they may some day find peace from the rape. Cause as far as I'm concerned I care more for the victim. The child is innocent but teh father isnt and what ever happens to the child lies SOLELY on the head of the father. Not the mother. So if you want to blame anyone for that child's abortion talk to the rapist.

Without going into detail, I will say that I know two women who went through this experience (which is bizarre given how statistically rare a pregnancy resulting from rape is). Both decided to have the child. One carried the baby to term and is raising her. She married her boyfriend about 2 years after the little girl was born and they later had another child. They are one of the happiest, healthiest families I know.
The other woman lost her child during the 4th month of her pregnancy. She maintains that experience was exceedingly more difficult than the circumstances which brought about the pregnancy.
DD, I would encourage you not to judge how other people might make decisions based on how you believe you would decide.
