COUNTERFEIT US CURRENCY IN CIRCULATION IN SAN PEDRO

Yesterday we reported that at least one person has been charged in connection with some counterfeit US currency that is in circulation in San Pedro. Police reports are that on Sunday August 31st, Charles Miller, a Belizean Laborer of the San Pedrito area was arrested and charged for being in possession of Counterfeit currency. Miller reportedly went to a bar and purchased beers with a US 20 dollar note that turned out to be counterfeit. Reports out of San Pedro are that at least three other cases and have been reported and two other people have been detained pending similar charges. Yesterday police arrested and charged Clement Martinez for the crimes of obtaining property by deception and possession of a counterfeit currency. The bills that reportedly went into circulation last Thursday had serial numbers E-G-5-0-4-4-3-7-3-2-B-G-7 and E-G-5-0-4-43-7-3-2-B.
