This may seem a strange question but if your wife can't identify the candidates as you stated, why would she put herself through watching this dog and pony show tonight?

Hey rykat,
How much does Bill Kristol charge you for your PNAC membership dues these days?

We went bike riding and I Tivo'd the new 2 hour Bones, so we could watch without adverts, and straight after that while Jane was cooking a late supper, I skipped all the opening speeches and went straight to Sarah Palin.

She was watching from the kitchen, not barefoot, but a good wife none the less wink

If you feel a need to inquire what we ate, please PM and I'm sure I could have her send you the recipe, but it was Indian something, with Tandoori Chicken and oven roasted veggies, with of course several cups of tea smile

Sounds like a great dinner. I was just interested because if she is completely disinterested in politics, why would she watch it.
From my perspective, those with a complete lack of interest usually do not take the step to vote so rarely impact the overall election. But you are right in that it is the sound byte voters that screw it up for the rest of us.

I was impressed too. Palin's suit was adorable.

It is not only reasonable but almost mandatory to consider associations made freely with the likes of Ayers, Wright, Resko and Frank Marshall Davis when considering a candidate with no legislative accomplishments to evaluate?

When you tag your comments with a line like this:

But hey I understand and its my mistake I forgot about IOKIYAR.

How unbiased should anyone consider your opinions to be?

Perhaps you could try IADKAD!

Have I ever said peopel should not take into consideration any past decisons about Obama? Have I ever said ignore anything in Obama's past? Why should I since I did. I weighed his mistake against McCain and I choose Obama.

You act like I think Obama is perfect. You act like I said he never made mistakes.

McCain's blunders and continous poor judgements in the past and now is all thee reason I need.

I cannot trust a man who sided with this adminstrations tragic policies over 90% of the time for the last 8 years to now give the country the chnage that is needed.

I heard the same arguments 4 years ago from the same people when they told us "stay the course" we know what we are doing.

Now they telling us "We will give you change" we know what we are doing. No thank you. If Obama wins and shows the same sort of incompetnce we got from the Bush Administration has shown. Then we can give him a new congress in 2 years.

But no, I will not gamble with a 10% chance.

Never said it was. But if you are actively subverting your missions, you should be shot for treason. If you are not actively subverting you missions, then I stand up for your right to spew as many halftruths and ignorant spin as you wish.

And yes, the "despite what you think" comment pigeonholes you in the ignorant spin category. It's quite obvious that I was stating the opposite, but being a good liberal requires an obvious distortion of the facts, so well done.

Understand, but you read all my posts and is there anything I said for you to even insiuate that I was subverting my misson? Yet you did.

Not going to sink to your level and engage in name calling and smearing. Was raised better then that. But like I said I appreciate your candor.

You are a very good and well studied liberal. Take half of a statement, ignore the qualifier, assert that half truth as the statement of the whole and use that to make your point.

Do you think I'm from Austria???

I mention Austrian economics and you think I'm from Austria???

OK. You've just lost any credibility you had in arguing free market economics.

I apologize I read the post quickly and didnt see your denial of nationality. For that I am sorry.

This is what you said:

Quote:
I know that the free market solves almost everything. What isn't solved by the free market is solved by other means, but going to war against one's own country is not the answer, unless it is time to overthrow the government. But then it is the people rising up against the established leaders and not a mass of citizens against other mass of citizens.

The north vs south war was not about slavery so much as it was about states rights. If the country wanted to abolish slavery, there was a prescribed way to do so and if done within that medium, the war would not have been necessary.

But as it is, Lincoln is responsible for the first big federal power shift and as such is responsible in part for many of the problems we have today.

But then what was the answer to ending slavery? Since you know more then I on economics (Never claimed I was an expert) Since war isnt the answer. Would it be the free market? Yes, maybe through legislative change but how long would that take? One day of slavery is one day too long. And I stated you are claiming Lincoln is reponsibel for many of the problems we have now. Thats what you said not I.

Free market could have eliminated slavery if popular opinion swayed against slavery, but that wasn't my point. States rights could still have abolished slavery without a civil war and we would be better off today, blacks, whites or whatever, with the federal government limited to the point it was pre-civil war.

States could have done it but for how much longer should the slaves had waited? They should never have been enslaved in the first place so now they should wait till time and maybe the free market frees them. As I said before my simplistic reason is one day of slavery is one day to long.

I to would like to see less Fed govt innvoled in my life especial in regard to civil liberties but I do feel there are times the fed must act. Case in point the states right for Jim Crow Laws. Some times trusting states isnt the best thing either.

Doesn't sound at all like what I've been reading.

Thank you. Thats my whole point. But i'm not that easily intimidated my insinuations.
