And how were those meetings different than sitting Senators going over their and having those same talks? They weren't authorized to do that. I seem to remember that being part of the discussion at the time. Not any different in theory, just that a President has status as such for life, and former Presidents have historically done nothing to subvert a sitting president while abroad: I don't feel any senator either should be having state department type talks counter to the administrations policy, regardless of which side holds office, but it has to be remembered that within the realm of international diplomacy, Senators of both sides of the isle are frequently used as a conduit to float trial balloons that at Presidential level cannot be seen to have been offered and rejected. Carter was directly opposing the current President, which is unacceptable to me, as it would have been for Bush 41 to stand in Beijing or Caracas and disparage Clinton, and by definition US policies

Alaska's laws are set up to encourage sex between minors. The age of consent is 16, but minors cannot marry until they are 18 unless both sets of parents consent. At risk of setting an horrific precedent, I have to admit that you are consistent when offering good information on all sides of an issue Also good to see Obamas firm stance that families, and particularly children of candidates are off limits: he has more class than many of his supporters

The mountains were beautiful and 3 days of bliss: no TV, no radio and no wireless connection and menially needed (no comment necessary). My friends, thanks for giving me a “bye” and you may have to continue because it is going to take a week to catch up. Wow, you have been having fun! I have just scanned the 45 pages and 441 post, so before I do any serious response I will have to do my research or L-A will give me a “tongue lashing”. Just a couple of “scanned comments”:
L-A posted “when you hear from Pug you’ve also heard from azbob” (something like that). Yes you are correct, I do agree with Pug the majority of the time and many others. Pug expresses himself, so much better that I am able to. Early dementia I guess.
What am I supposed to grade? If it was the last 4 years of Bush then a C. If it was congress F-.
I am not a Republican. I am a Conservative Independent. To be completely honest, I used to be a registered Democrat. DON”T KILL ME!
After “scanned review” I will have questions and comments for Darvin’s Dad.
And Jessie (sorry ,spd), since you are the last post: “you have the pooper scooper, but you shouldn’t keep it in your office!” ;-)

Darvin’s Dad: It is obvious you are well educated and express your views very well. You are a welcome addition to the political discussions. The Left really needed you (pun). This is the internet and you can be whoever you want to be with anonymity if you so choose. I t does not change your opinions, you are who you are.
I am a very direct person. I know you realize that there are several of us on this Board who are veterans and some that are retired military. Several of us, including me, have asked you questions that you have ignored. Those questions go to your creditability, not what you believe in, but who you say you are. Give us “old dogs” a bone. I am not asking for your Name, Rank and Serial Number. That may cause you difficulties. Tell us some things about being deployed in Afghanistan without giving away your identity. Those of us that have been in the military will know. There are many things that you can say without revealing your identity.

Azbob No one has ever asked me to prove I live in Moab/Plano or you to verify Arizona as your residence? DD's opinions, like those of anyone else, are valid regardless of who, where or what he is ; by the same standard they should be able to be viewed based on their validity and we in turn should not be prejudiced by his location or profession when evaluating his opinions? Other than that how was your weekend

gee, terrielinn, seems like the Dems Presidential pick and the Gop's VP pick are qualified to me. Was there something both are missing or am I just stupid> DONT ANSWER THAT! Just want to make sure you know I never said she, or they for that matter, were unqualified, just inexperienced. There is a difference ry. The choices in this election do not sit well with me. I am not satisfied that anything will be accomplished beyond further division of our country and or further exploitation into socialism. AAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!
