We are working hard at the property to repair storm damage as quickly as
possible. Thought I'd bring you up to date and as people ask you will know
how to respond.
First of all there was minimal damage to the water construction, including
pier, dive shop etc. and any repair there will be done by 1st week of
November easily. Several boats are already back on the pier and the others
should be shortly so I see know problem with scuba and fishing trips as
normal. The reef I am told by divers around town is in great shape. I saw no
evidence of corals or sealife on the beach like we had after Mitch so
believe this to be true.
Our central facility including restaurant, bar, gift shop and pool are being
worked on now. All will be back together and in operation as of November
13th. The Gift Shop may be a few days longer but will be close.
The cabanas on the south end of the property were not as damaged as those on
the north end. We are concentrating on those and will have units 1-32 open
by the 13th. We may have temporary furnishing in a few of these rooms for
several more weeks but will have them comfortable.
The cabanas on the north end of the property were hardest hit. Mainly the
two story building on the beach. We will be through with everything except
these when we re-open. By that time the majority of the work remaining to be
done should be interior work and since it is on the opposite end of the
property should be minimal disturbance to hotel guests.
