With the news of a High School finally becoming a reality on the Caye, I realize how many changes must have occurred since I lived there in the early 90's...Remember when....some of the only restaurants were Marin's, Paradise, or Sids and Glenda's for breakfast? When you missed the last boat in Belize you were staying the night, no airstrip, and tourists actually camped. (Speaking of tourists, I think people liked them then). The big social activity was making the "circle" in the evenings, Paradise (before the bank) was the only place with air conditioning, colorful characters like Dodo, Gamusa, Deco and Emma,(just to name a very few, the mind ain't what it used to be) nights at the Black Coral, trying to use the fisherman's co-op ice for drinks, erratic electricity...Ahhh. Anyhow, you can't live in the past and there seems to be a lot of good changes. I wish everyone well and especially the kids getting their chance. Wendy (one of the original "juice ladies")
