Forgot about Benny's Kitchen. Nice place, run by the Chan family I think. Had good escabeche there, and banana licuados.

Michelle, thanks for the pics and report - just got a chance to look it over. San Ignacio is a place I have wanted to visit for some time, so I am excited about our upcoming trip.

Lan, what is banana licuado?

My first love, Serendib's....Curried Shrimp, Savory Rice and Deviled Potatoes. Hodes for lunch. Hannah's for lamb.

My faves are Hode's, Hannah's (Try the ginger rum shrimp! Has lots of vegetarian & vegan entrees as well), Sanny's for dinner, Erva's (not Eva's) great home made breads, Pop's (for breakfast & catching up on the local gossip but the food is inconsistent), Yoli's for pizza and/or ice cream, Martha's outdoor setting is nice but the portions keep getting smaller, Rolson's for Mexican! Great take out/or picnic table BBQ just across the bridge in Santa Elena. If you get adventurous and want real & local food with the local crowd, try Smith Farm Bar & Grill on Branch Mouth Road - walking distance but a bit of a haul from Cahal Pech.

I will be sending you my "Cayo Connections" with lots of info & tips when I send out your documents - a Barb's Belize perk ;-)
