Hi Marty,
I contacted you in Aug. about donations to schools in SP. You responded with the Email addresses of local schools, but my Emails to the schools received no response. This might be a good time to revisit my objective. My California school district is sitting on a goldmine of used texts (and other materials) as we just implemented new reading and math programs. How do we send materials to SP, who pays the shipping, where do we send them, and what is needed? I have been reading the boards and know about the basics: pencils, paper, literature, crayons, and other materials. Are SP schools interested in American textbooks... Science, Reading and Math? I'm not sure our Social Studies texts would be very valuable to students in SP! LOL Please Email me at:
skibch10@aol.com. It makes my stomach turn over knowing that we have thousands of $$ worth of educational materials warehoused.
Thanks, Kris

i'd hold off on the textbooks for now, but other materials, it is VERY IMPORTANT to label the materials you ship as:

anything shipped to:
Rich Frantz
3721 Hackberry Lane
Bedford, TX 76021

we can get into the country...

Dear La Isla Bonita Elementary School,

My name is Tom Ritchie - I don't believe we've met. You may remember all
the people from Fox Television who were on Ambergris Caye in September to
film a TV show called "Temptation" - I was one of the members of the cast in
the show.

I, along with several other cast members, live in Los Angeles. Naturally,
all of us were very distraught to learn of the damage done by Hurricane
Keith - particularly given how recently we had enjoyed the people and beauty
of Belize. A number of us have been searching for ways that we can do
something to contribute to the relief efforts underway on the island. With
the collaboration of Fox, we have decided to hold a benefit concert here in
Los Angeles with all fundraising going to Ambergris Caye.

I've seen your web site linked from the Ambergris Caye message board, and
we've decided that La Isla Bonita Elementary School is one of the groups
that we'd like to help. The concert will be small, but it is a beginning.
Our donation will be purely financial and hopefully will be around
$1,000-$3,000 U.S.- we are relying on you to determine how best the money
can be spent.

That said, I would love to get to know a little bit more about the school
and what its needs are. Please reply to this email and we can discuss how
best to move forward.

I look forward to talking with you - all the best,

Tom Ritchie

To Tom and Kris,
Please email us at Rickcheri@hotmailcom, We have been sending shipments of supplies to the islands for the past month and a half. and our conection is about out... We have sent down over 100 boxes of supplies to the islands thru our connect here and I do not want to abuse it.... They have been very wonderful for the relief effort... Please email us.... I would like to talk with both of you all to see what we can do.. I just received today 10 boxes of school supplies to support the schools there which we will get down in a couple of days... I'm in contact with the Hon. Patty Arceo and she will let us know what else is needed....

Thanks and God bless you all...

Rick and Cheri

Ps. We, on our part will have to come to a close on the supplies going down, but we have other resources... Thanks, Rick
