Thanks for all the info. You are right, I did not do my research and just assumed that fishing Costa Rica and Belize would be about the same. Ooops. My husband is an avid fly fisherman so he will be in his glory. CaptJeff said to "Ask krehfish or don grief about fly guides". Who would you recommend? Yippee less than two weeks till out trip. Another question, how cool is it at night - do we need to bring a jacket? or are long sleeves enough? thanks.

Mary Jo, My favorite fly fishing guide is Manuel Azueta. He lives in San pedro but fishes throught the islands. You may contact hin at :
manuelazueta@yahoo.com or 011-501-226-2709 by phone. My son and I were there last week and caught bones and a nice tarpon. Manuel will have flys and leaders. I usually use his 8 and 10wt rods and bring my own reels. He will treat you right. Tell him that I told you about him. Don Greife
