dan - that was incredible. i read the whole thing aloud to my husband. we have been fascinated with that area of the world for a few years, and it sounds like it lives up to what we've seen of it.

we have talked many times of going to Bali. we even had researched it some, and have it (and malaysia ) set as keywords on our tiVo.

someday, we hope, when we are blessed with more available time & funds (i hear ya on inexpensive...but the airfare is killer). now that i have read your account, you have rekindled the desire. thank you.

keep an eye on Cathay Pacific's monthly deal. Every few months they put Bali on sale. I've seen prices of US$600 from LAX or San Francisco. That's a deal, about the same price as flying into Belize.

Myself, I used Continental frequent flier miles to get me to Guam, then I bought tickets out to Truk and Bali.

I've never spoken with anyone at the brewery about this, although I've tried. I just can't get through. One of my warehouses is climate controlled and I could bring in a bunch of beer, but it looks like nothing will happen until I physically go to the brewery and knock on some doors.
