I am new to the board as a poster, but have been a long time voyeur.

I am on Ambergris Caye right now for only one night and was wondering where to find a great place for a nice meal and a drink or two. Everything seemed to be closed when I arrived last night.

Blue Water Grill has just opened back up and BCs is right next door for a few after dinner beverages.

isnt there a posted list of what was open and closed this season here somewhere?

if el patio or sunset grill is open, i'd pick one of those (JMO)

The Caribbean Combo at Sunset Grill was one of the most enjoyable meals I've eaten anywhere in a long time

Pedro's is always a fun night and good pizza. For dinner, we went up to Portofino the other night and had a wonderful dinner. They have a free boat if you call to reserve.

KC, you and I will 2 of those tourist that wobbled in and out! Can't wait!

I am counted as one of the many locals there last night my group enjoyed the Coldest beer great wings and Pizza..

Pedro's is always a blast and yummy pizza.

For incredible (and slightly expensive, but so worth it) food, go to Portofino's! The lobster bisque was the best soup I've ever had!

Is there a dress code for Portofino or Sunset Grill? We will be on AC this FRIDAY for 8 wonderful nights!!!

No dress code that I know of, but dressed up in San Pedro is putting on a button up shirt and wearing the nice flip flops

Either restaurant is absolutely wonderful!

That is what I was hoping for! I am bringing 3 pairs of shoes - ALL flip flops! one pair for sport, one pair for beach, and one pair for pool!

I only pack 1 pair!

People in Mississippi have 3 pair of shoes and they are all flip flops ? This is network news !!!

Portofino doesn't have a dress code, but a shirt and flip flops might be in order............

I think some type of garment to cover up the nether-regions would be advisable too....

Last night was the opening of Tammy Peterson's new restaurant in the purple building near the school. A delightful new place,'The hummingbird Cafe' (love that name). The Purple building is called Velma Linda Building. Yummy!

Vilma Linda Plaza - named after a very popular community leader - Mrs. Vilma Arceo.

The Hummingbird Cafe will feature Gallon Jug beef (Belizean) and Belizean Shrimp - can't remember the name of the farm.

The food was great. They will serve breakfast starting from 8am, lunch and dinner by appointment only. For breakfast and lunch you can have a standing order, or pre-order so that the food is on the table ready and waiting when you arrive. The restaurant will cater private dinners only. Minimum of 4 people, maximum of 16. Family style. You would preorder your meal.
