I f you look closely, it appears that the pictures are of the same area!

The green strip in the top left of the first picture would be the unpaved landing strip.

the originals of the 1959 pics are SO DETAILED. super good lens. shot on slide film. you can keep zooming in the originals, which are too big to be online, and almost go window peeking 50 years ago. very time-machine-ish Chris....
