I have to fly to Houston to fly back to Dallas to get on a plane here that would have been a $618 flight?

No, OP is correct. IAH-BZE on American. Stops in Dallas and price is only $145 roundtrip. Or going just from Dallas as well.

i just looked at my AA nov flt thru mia - was WAY LESS! called AA - paid $150 change fee per ticket - and STILL got $400 back in future travel vouchers - $200 pp.
