How did the Texas biscuit ladies fair from Keith? I think their restaurant was called "Taste of Texas" in the Hideaway, right? Are they operational? I have to have my biscuits!

Search back a page or two. One of the owners had a topic posted because they lost some of their booking records in the 'cane. My information is that the Hideway got messed up a bit, butthey were working to stick it back together.

That biscuits and gravy from the gals is really sumptin'. I ate enough of it in August every morning to ballast the Winnie Estelle! Mix a damn fine blue drink in the bar, too!

Geez, your makin' me hungry. We cashed our tickets, if Keith hadn't hit we would have been at the Hideaway this very morning.

Poor ChooChoo! Guess dos Texas Girls have enough trouble already. I'm thinkin in about 3 or 4 weeks, I'll be going to San Pedro. I'm wantin the electric on so I can have a nice warm shower on the front porch. I won't hafta worry bout dos poor folks in San Pedrito watchin me with their binoculars. Take care.

And the little skit they used to do about a menu? Where they would ask Grandpaw what's for dinner.....and he would read off the menu?...LOL

Here's my menu...

Fried pork chops
Rice and tomato gravy
corn on the cob
field peas and snaps with okra
bisquits (to sop up the gravy of course)
and a big plate of home grown sliced tomatoes and cucumbers with salt and pepper.

Oh yea...and grandmaw's homemade carrot cake for desert.

I just know you are going to have some lame excuse, like goin' home for the holidays....but if you want to whip that up for lunch the 23rd of December, I'll provide all the adult beverages AND a real nice Christmas gift. (Well, sorta nice). I'd even bypass the Hideaway's B&G that morning so we'd be real good and hungry.

If I was here I SWEAR I would cook it for you just for the pleasure of eating it and seeing your face while you ate it!

But....as you said.....I hope to be enjoying a big family spread with turkey and dressin'. sweet potato casserole, and all the many dishes that go with it!

Are sweet po tay toes available in SP? Every one but me hates 'em, but I'll have SWMBO and the gracious Princess SWMBO fix up a pile of em for Christmas dinner.

Damn! Why does this board always denigrate into threads about eatin' and drinkin'? Don't y'all have any tourist type advice to give these fine people. I'm headin for Steak and Shake, back in a couple hours.
