Wilmington, NC (WECT) -- The city of Wilmington is passing on an unusual donation to one of its sister cities - a street sweeper.

Orlando Flores, a mechanic from San Pedro, Belize, was in town this week to get a feel for the donated street sweeper. Flores worked with city employees to learn how to operate the machine.

The city of San Pedro in Belize has paved roads, but many are still dirt and because of that soil end ends up on the roads. San Pedro paid for the repairs to the machine and parts. Flores heads back home Sunday waiting for the arrival of the sweeper.

Wilmington and San Pedro became sister cities in May 2007. The sweeper will be shipped to San Pedro at no cost to the city of Wilmington.
