Does anyone know how the river is doing? Is it high, low, rough etc etc. I have some friends who are going down to SP for their first time Nov 20 and they were thinking about taking a tour cave tubing but I am a bit worried because of all the rain you guys have had recently which may cause high water and the mishap that happened a few weeks ago. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Don't know about the cave tubing river, but the river at Xununtunich ruins is still too high to re-open them.

I can't vouch for the river conditions. However, I will say that if the trip is through the group at Jaguar Paw resort, they will not take the group unless it is "safe". They are not going to "force" the trip down river but rather truly take consideration for safety of patrons cool. Also, should you get there and not be able to do the cave tubing, you can still to one of the hiking tours or the zip lining (what a blast) grin.

Here's my report on the cavetubing and ziplining:

May your friends have a blast whatever they choose laugh.

Just had a friend go out to the Jaguar Paw on Friday with his family. He said the river was perfect. He did mention that the river water is much cooler than the reef water we have on the Caye - so if you are thin skinned, you may consider a wet suit top.
