I was wondering what the level of computer competency is for different age groups in Belize. I would assume that the younger group is much more familiar with computers, but I am wondering to what degree.
For example, what apps are kids taught in school? Are they given any programming classes? Does computer instruction happen at an adult education level as well?
My wife and I are working on our plan for Belize, and as part of our life there, we plan on continuing to work our existing internet business (yes Chris, we'll get the proper permits). We already deal with clients internationally and my location doesn't really matter so long as I can get connected.
I'm already overworked as it is and expect that to keep up for the foreseeable future. I currently employ from overseas to add additional hands when necessary, but if I'm working from Belize, I would like to think that I could hire locally instead of soliciting more remote developers.
I'm happy to train the right people, but I would obviously want to start with people who have a grounding in coding, internet and other computer concepts.
What kind of computer competency can I expect from HS grads or other adults of working age?
