All- I am considering staying at Costa Maya for half of my trip. I will not need enough supplies that it warrants the cost of Lagniappe Provisioning. However, is the new Rojo market sufficient enough for fruit, bakery, meat items or will I still need to trek into town for supplies? Also, can you order from the beer distributor or will I need to hit that if I go to town. Any info would be appreciated. I don't want to waste a ton of time trekking back and forth just for food and sundries.

Nittany313:

Simon/Lagniappe does a great job and will certainly save you trekking about town (argubly not the first thing most people want to do on vacation.)

We (Rojo MRKT) DO carry a complete selection of fresh produce, fresh baked breads, seafood, deli meats, cheeses, a great selection of CA wines, beer, prepared foods, home made ice cream/desserts and daily specials. We're a little over a mile south of Costa Maya.

Mata Grande Grocery (a scant 1/2 mile further south) has a great selection of snacks, dry goods, cereal, pastas, ice cream, soda/beer/liquor, etc.

All said, it's a LOT easier to get a wide selction of goods up north nowadays.

Enjoy your trip!!!

All- That sounds great...thanks for more info on Rojo Market. We are bringing lots of dry goods but need the perishables- especially the beer. Shouldn't be difficult to get down there on bikes.

Can do, but I still think it would be helpful to put as much information as possible on the map. I hope somebody can do that.

Moose Keep an open mind and something good may fall in.
