Turneffe,, Glad to hear from someone from the flats. Perhaps you can shed some light on a question that has bothered me for some time. Specifically; The folks who run things out there are reported to have been instrumental in promoting legislation to require fishing licenses for all who fish the coastal waters of Belize. While I have no specific objection to the license fee/tax I'm told that the reason for the fee is to support the protection and declining populations of the tarpon, bonefish and permit in these waters. My question is: Who would we be protecting these species from and why are they declining?
