My name is Kevin and I am a have a problem. I cannot get enough of fishing and diving around Turneffe Atoll. I use to live and work out on the islands and now miss it so much that I have created this form to talk about it. I "worked" as the General Manager and Fishing Manager of Turneffe Flats so can assist with many questions related to travel and recreation in Belize. I am just as passionate about conservation as I am about the fishing and diving around the atoll but that is probably a another subject altogether. www.youtube.com/TurneffeFlats

What are doing and where are you living now Kevin?
I hope that someday we can put aside our fears and prejudices and just laugh at people.

Turneffe,, Glad to hear from someone from the flats. Perhaps you can shed some light on a question that has bothered me for some time. Specifically; The folks who run things out there are reported to have been instrumental in promoting legislation to require fishing licenses for all who fish the coastal waters of Belize. While I have no specific objection to the license fee/tax I'm told that the reason for the fee is to support the protection and declining populations of the tarpon, bonefish and permit in these waters. My question is: Who would we be protecting these species from and why are they declining?
I'll be happy to discuss my avatar with anyone who knows what it is.
