Hi! A group of 9 are traveling to San Pedro to stay for about 5 weeks in the middle of March. We are looking for a house that can accomodate such a large group. Does anyone have any suggestions? We would like a place that is affordable (ie cheaper). We are broke collge students tha are volunteering in the local schools Any help would be awesome!!!! Thanks, Kristen

Check into Ak'bol. They are working on a dorm type concept, but have other options as well.

Pedro's looks great for that age group and fun right down stairs.

It wouldn't hurt to inquire at the schools you're going to be working at. Maybe they could check around for you, or get you a better rate through their contacts.

Also try pedros or Tradewinds,they have just installed bunk beds in there apartments.

On a slightly different line of thought, have you considered splitting the group in favor of staying with host families. The school staff may be in favor of this concept. This way you would be able to get a better view of the society you are volunteering with and if you keep your "free time" to yourselves you can still do the get-together partying and sight-seeing events.
