Just thought it would be interesting to see what everyone is cooking based on your family traditions.

My Menu

Turkey
Spiral ham with brown sugar glaze
Dressing with chicken
Sweet potato casserole with pecan topping
Green beans with new potatoes
Home made mac-n-cheese
Hash brown potato casserole
Broccolli and rice casserole
Green peas with pearl onions
Turkey gravy (made with turkey drippings, no giblets, LOL)
Rolls
Lots of cranberry sauce!

Deserts
Banana pudding
Pumpkin pies
Buttermilk pie

Yum, Yum, Yum! smile

What's your menu??

We're goin' to the boats (read: casinos) and partaking of the buffet and the one-armed bandits!
We just don't have any family here and we already slaughtered our turkey, so that's why we're going down there!

My family always does a Waldorf Salad. One of my favorites - too bad I'll miss it this year.

Caye - In the states I always made a Waldorf Salad even though neither on of my children would eat it. Yummy - more left over for me. And I cooked Brussel Sprouts just to be mean - My son couldn't stand the sight nor smell of them.

Oooh, I LOVE brussel sprouts. Only get to treat ourselves to them once a year, Christmas day. And they are pretty pathetic looking by the time they reach here....

Well, if my Mom is cooking does that count? We'll be enjoying the whole spread. Similar to yours, but without the ham.

Have to tell you about it on friday!

Have a great thanksgiving.

All the best sandshaker.

Hi, Sandshaker. You guessed correctly...we are in Virginia. My family has quite a few great southern cooks in it.

I thought mom's menu sounded a lot like yours! Where are you?

Somebody say Waldorf Salad?

The funniest man ever puts it in a whole new light!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcJAcuyVLZI&feature=related

Thanksgivings at Chez Pug consists of:

Bacon
Sausage
Roast Potato
Mashed potato
Mushroom/Orange Dressing
Peas
Carrots
Courgettes
Corn
Gravy
Cranberry
and
Roast Chicken
(tastes better...no tryptophan, and the Cowboys play the late game, so no afternoon nap!)

Nowhere to be seen will be
Yams
Sweet potato
Green Jello with egg or peas disguised as "Salad"?
Canned green beans/canned mushroom soup/packages onion rings
Anything smoked so dry it resembles jerky

Absolutely out of the question, and the underlying reason that 25 years ago I broke up with a beautiful cheerleader whose kin folks hailed from Arkansas......

Turnip Greens and Okra sick
